Finding Home with Rex Weyler
Sunday, November 30
2 pm to 3:30 pm
Cortes Island Museum
957 Beesley Road, one block up the hill from Manson’s HallJoin us for an afternoon with author, ecologist, and longtime Cortes Island resident Rex Weyler. In this installment of the Finding Home: The Cortes Island Experience series, Rex will share stories and anecdotes from his life, work, and travels. Come to hear his unique perspective on what Cortes Island can teach us about finding our place, not just in a community, but within the living world.
In this series of informal talks, a local resident shares their personal story – how they discovered Cortes Island, what drew them to make it their home, and what continues to inspire them to stay. The talk is followed by an open Q&A, creating space for connection and conversation. Afterwards, stick around for a casual social gathering to meet neighbours, share experiences, and strengthen the bonds that make Cortes Island a special place to live.
Whether you’re new to the island or a longtime resident, the Finding Home speaker series offers a chance to deepen your understanding of the community and the stories that shape it. We look forward to seeing you there!
Refreshments will be provided. Registration is not required. Donations are greatly appreciated. For more information, please visit our website
