Be Part of the Decision-Making Process

We are seeking volunteer jury members to help review and score applications. Jury members play an important role in democratizing local philanthropy, bringing community insight, fairness, and transparency to how Cortes Island’s community funds are distributed.

As a jury member, you’ll:

- Review and score a selection of applications using a simple evaluation matrix
- Join 2–3 meetings (up to 2 hours each) during the last two weeks of November
- Participate either in person on Cortes Island or via Zoom
- Receive a small honorarium in appreciation for your time and contribution

No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to engage thoughtfully, respect confidentiality, and bring your unique perspective as a community member. Previous jury members are welcome to apply again.

Why Join the Jury?

By participating, you help shape funding decisions that directly strengthen Cortes Island’s arts, culture, environment, and social well-being. This process is an opportunity to learn more about local initiatives, connect with fellow islanders, and ensure that community voices guide community resources.

📅 Timeline: Jury meetings will take place in the last two weeks of November.
📍 Where: Hybrid or in person on Cortes or online via Zoom.
💰 Honorarium: Provided.
