The Strathcona Regional District is encouraging residents to “Drop, Cover and Hold On” in the Great BC ShakeOut later this month.
SRD Chair Mark Baker says the ShakeOut is a reminder for everyone to take a look at how prepared we are.
After the drill, Baker suggests you check your emergency kit, update your plan, and make sure your home or office is safe from things that could fall or break in an earthquake.
“A few small actions today can make a big difference when the ground starts to shake.”
To be counted, register at
www.shakeoutbc.ca and have a drill on Thursday, October 16 at 10:16 am.
