It was a packed Pioneer room on Friday afternoon for the final presentation of the Climate Action Network's summer of community engagement.

Our Ph.D candidate, Ilse Martinez, delivered the results of her work, "Understanding Cortes Island Beliefs, Knowledge, and Preferences to Inform Climate Action".

There was lively discussion that centered around the dimensions of hope in a world struggling to come to terms with reality and the need for transformative change of society to meet the moment and reduce the risks to tolerable levels.

All were grateful to have the Cortes Island Academy youth present to remind us of what we're fighting for and to bring fresh, clear-eyed vision to the challenges.
