The Music of Language, Plants, and Cortes Island
1051 Lagoon Rd, 4pm Sunday the 24th of August
Some folks have been asking for a bit more detail about tomorrow afternoons event at Ellingsen Woods- The Music of Language, Plants & the World
Join us tomorrow for the closing celebration of our Summer Series with a unique evening of sound, connection, and dance.
We’ll begin by honouring the Klahoose Language Program, recognizing the ways language carries culture, story, and relationship.
From there, musician and biologist Tarun Nayar (aka Modern Biology) will take us on an unforgettable sonic journey. Using his custom-built machines, Tarun connects directly to plants, mushrooms, and trees, transforming their electrical signals into mesmerizing music. With wireless headsets provided, you’ll be immersed in an intimate soundscape where nature itself becomes the composer.
Afterwards, we’ll transition into a vibrant celebration with world dance music—an open invitation to move, connect, and close out the season together in joy.
We hope to see you there! Get tickets at Zeffy or tomorrow at the event.
