DJ Spruce Lee, Yuri, Kyle and Theda Pheonix
Welcome to a special collaborative musical journey, combining local and visiting talent.
Yuri (blauinks), an eclectic Spanish nomad visiting from Taiwan is, among many skills, a flute maker and player. Kyle, a gentle Cortesian soul, living at the pace of nature, one with his guitar and the ethereal wonder, Theda Phoenix (theda.phoenix) who has been gracing west coast festivals and sacred spaces for years with her angelic voice, crystal bowls and various sound healing tools.
Yuri & Kyle will open the dance with a contemplative soulful flute and guitar duet. The music will transition to Andrew (djsprucelee) on the decks, navigating a world sonic dance journey from jungle to desert, Palestine to Balkans, tribal to classical. Theda will close with a short sound healing journey. Bring a yoga mat if you want to lay on one during the sound healing portion.
DJ Spruce Lee (he/him) sees Dance as a sacred unfolding Journey, a microcosm of life in moving form.
Ecstatic dance is a Ceremony, an intentional container for shared growth and healing. He infuses his music with these philosophies so that it feels like a Ceremonial Journey. Andrew defies convention as a DJ, a reflection of his eclectic nature by incorporating a diverse range of genres and energy levels, through unpredictable twists and turns, encompassing the vast spectrum of life experience in one set – from grounding to ethereal, light to dark, expansive to integrative.
All ages, all genders, all bodies, and all parts of YOU are welcome.
Regular Temple Guidelines:
1. Move however you wish
2. No talking on the dance floor
3. Respect yourself and one another
Dance Temple is an alcohol-free and scent-free space. Please also refrain from phones and outdoor shoes.
The facilitators of Dance Temple hold a strong intention to honour movement and dance as an essential and powerful expression of self and connection to others. We acknowledge the healing and creative nature of movement and recognize that fun, play and humour are vital to this practice.
