the other night, someone was awakened by a generator running in the night...the app didn't shut it off, a remote web app didn't.. a message out to the property owner couldn't shut it down from his phone/app/PC in another country.

Someone had to go investigate and upon opening the gen battery room person was met with smoke heat and toxic fumes as batteries well overcharged and swollen were about to explode... creating a fire the sleeping and far away fire dept would not be able to access this water access only off grid property out near the edge of the Earth...

Had someone not gone in, risking their safety to cut the fuel to generator a disaster was imminent.. fire would quickly spread across the property to adjoining properties, across the moat and to the village downwind..

the volunteer fire dept could not manage a fire like this as they have no resources to access remote water access only properties... and the entire island could be engulfed in short time.. all in night, when everyone is sleeping

yes the property owner had been notified a year ago something was not right about the solar/off grid system and a recent inspection by tech experts found no issue...

we can not rely on electric battery banks, phone apps, internet, cell coverage or fire response here on island...dead/damaged EV's can not be transported off island and are a fire hazard in wait that at some point ole Murphy gonna hit the fan.

its just a matter of time till one of these 'green' systems creates irreparable damage..to life limb and property...
