CREATIVE SPACES: Presenting Karen McDiarmid's Studio
Saturday, June 28, 10 am to 4 pm
Join the Museum for this self-guided tour of 17 gardens and artist studios across Cortes Island.
Presenting Karen McDiarmid StudioKaren is a painter and photographer who attended the Banff Centre’s two-year photography program in the 1970s and then studied Art History at UVIC. Originally from Vancouver Island, she spent decades in the Rockies before returning to the coast in 2016, moving to Cortes Island in early 2020. She feels fortunate to have joined Lisa Gibbons’ Thursday Afternoon art group soon after arriving, which introduced her to the creative community of Cortes. Currently, she is working on a series of paintings and collages that depict both the beauty and the terror of life on Earth. Tickets for the tour: $20 (kids under 12 free) are available now at
