Cortes Islanders
The Strathcona Regional District has received grant funding to paint a mural(s) that signifies adapting successfully to a changing climate to inspire ingenuity, conversation and hope on 4 different firefighting water tanks located at:
• Mansons Landing Firehall (2 tanks)
• Sutil Road (2 tanks)
It is believed that community members are best suited to recommend to the Regional District which design would be the most appropriate for Cortes Island. Therefore, the Regional District would like to put together a selection committee comprising of up to 8 community members to assist in selecting the artwork. The recommendations from this Selection Committee will be brought before the meeting of the Regional Board on August 21st, 2025 for approval.
