The Better at Home Program will be working with Ecotrust Canada & the Clean BC Better Homes Energy Program to get heat pumps installed in seniors homes this fall. Getting firewood is getting harder and more expensive every year so more people are using their baseboard heaters on a regular basis, which is expensive. The heat pump also helps cool your home during the summer heat.
With a heat pump you can:
- Lower your monthly energy costs
- Improve year-round comfort
- Enjoy healthier indoor air quality
- Reduce greenhouse gas emissions
We will be putting in a bulk application for Better at Home clients for heat pumps. We start intake in June and hope to start the first round of installations in September by a registered program contractor (from Campbell River). Many clients in our program will be eligible for a 85-100% rebate.
We are hosting an information session on Thursday June 12th at 1pm in the Pioneer Room at Mansons Hall for all Better at Home clients. There will be a presentation by Michael-Anthony Lutfy from Ecotrust regarding the program and there will be Q&A afterwards.
I will be there to answer specific BAH questions and Andrea Fisher will be there to help with the intake forms. The forms are to sign up for your interest in a heat pump through our bulk application program. We do not know how many rounds of this program we will be offering so I encourage you to sign up this time if you are interested.
After the information session we will connect with you individually - Bruce Taylor will be running the program - he is completing the training session this coming week. His support will be a free service through our BAH program for all our clients.
If you are off island that day or unable to come to the info session but want to sign up, please contact Ester before June 12th: betterathomecortesgmail.com or 250-204-2116 and I will add your name to the list,
