Friday, May 23rd from 3-5 PM at Mansons Hall in the Pioneer Room or on Zoom
With clear skies and summer just around the corner, are you concerned about your well water supply and having enough water for crops and household needs? What can we do to protect groundwater sources on Cortes Island and ensure that development is sustainable over the long-term?
The Cortes Housing Society has hired GW Solutions (GWS) to complete a Cortes Island Aquifer Sustainability Assessment. Funded by a grant from the BC Real Estate Foundation, the project, has involved mapping and assessing aquifers on Cortes, determining aquifer recharge and water availability for use, and estimating water demand from land use in developed areas. The project is nearing completion and the researchers are coming to Cortes to present an overview of the methods and results, and to gather additional input from the community.
Join us for the presentation and discussion on Friday, May 23rd from 3-5 PM at Mansons Hall in the Pioneer Room or on Zoom.
