FRIDAY, MAY 9: Dance Temple Cortes

Head's Up that Dance Temple this week has been moved to Friday evening to make room for more music and dance on Cortes.

Friday May 9, 7:00- 8:30 at Mansons Hall

Dance Temple ecstatic dance with DJ ConnieQ, 7:00-8:30
$15-$25 at the door, accompanied children free

ConnieQ (she/her) is a long time ecstatic dancer who weaves rich tapestries of music that inspires her to dance and flow. Connie honours the transformative power of embodied movement for somatic healing, for healthy connection, for release, joy and playful fun. Her soundscapes weave through genres, inviting journeys into whatever moves us in the moment and to explore what arises within us as we come alive through dance.

Dance Temple is an inclusive, safer, and sacred community space to explore authentic non-verbal expression through ecstatic dance and movement for health and transformation.

Dance Temple is an invitation to tune in to your body, join with other dancers, celebrate, meditate, express and unwind. It is an open dance floor for you to explore different rhythms, sounds, patterns of movement and whatever arises in your inner journey.

All ages, all genders, all bodies, and all parts of YOU are welcome.

Regular Temple Guidelines:
1. Move however you wish
2. No talking on the dance floor
3. Respect yourself and one another

Dance Temple is an alcohol-free and scent-free space. Please also refrain from phones and outdoor shoes.

The facilitators of Dance Temple hold a strong intention to honour movement and dance as an essential and powerful expression of self and connection to others. We acknowledge the healing and creative nature of movement and recognize that fun, play and humour are vital to this practice.

Please contact connieaquaylegmail.com if you would like to be involved or are interested in volunteering in exchange for free admission.
