Comox Strathcona Waste Management, Klahoose Aquaculture, and Friends of Cortes Island are organizing a huge whole island BEACH CLEAN UP!
During the month of May, we are asking you to get out there and clean up your beloved beaches. Going for a beach walk? Why not pick up garbage as you go?
Super sacks will be available near some beach access points. So, you can drop off garbage there, the recycling centre, or store it at home. Here’s where the sacks will be:
• Hanks Beach Regional Park
• The Recycling Centre
• Hollyhock
• Mansons Landing Government Dock
• Hayes Road Beach Access
• Plunger Pass Beach Access (Seavista)
On Sat June 7th you can bring any beach garbage you have collected to an Ocean Legacy Bin set up at the Klahoose Aquaculture Building (across from the health centre). Help with sorting is appreciated!
We hope you will join in the fun, get the garbage off the beaches, out of the ocean, and ... off to be recycled! Thanks to all our partners!
