Island Health will be returning on Cortes Island June 12 for a COVID-19 booster clinic.

This vaccine is the same COVID-19 vaccine in place during the latest respiratory illness season, which is the mRNA vaccine targeting the KP.2 COVID-19 subvariant.

Once the following groups, those most at risk of severe COVID-19 illness or complications, receive an invitation to book an appointment, they can book for June 12

Adults 65 years and older
Indigenous adults 55 years and older
Individuals 6 months and older and who have been diagnosed as clinically extremely vulnerable (CEV 1 or CEV 2 condition)
Residents of long-term care homes and assisted living facilities, including alternate level of care patients awaiting placement in long-term care
