If you believe the climate is changing (i.e.- the average global temperature is increasing, the number and extent of extreme weather events are increasing, the mass die-off of shellfish along BC’s coast did occur etc, etc) you are probably not voting for the Conservative Party. So what is the strategic alternative?

Polls and projections

There have recently been three polls conducted in our riding. In addition to that, there have also been two companies that have made projections based on historical data (like demographics, who was elected in the past etc) and recent national polls.

A poll conducted by Research co (April 17-19), and the April 27 projection by 338Canada suggest that the NDP are currently second in our riding and have the best chance of supplanting the Conservatives. The problem is that they are so far behind the Conservatives that this is really a long shot.

Alternatively, polls conducted by Mainstreet Research (April 19-20) and Spadina Strategies (April 20-21), as well as the most recent projection by Poliwave (April 26) suggest the Liberal party is in second place. This is a much more attractive choice, as all three sources agree the Liberals are within the margin of error (ie – there is a chance they are already leading). If this line of thinking is correct, the Liberals are at least within striking distance of winning the election in our riding.

Being the most attractive choice does not mean it is correct.

You choose.
