MUSEUM HOST INTERPRETER -Are you looking for a great job this summer? The Cortes Island Museum & Archives is hiring! We are looking for a mature, friendly, self-reliant person (17–30 years of age) to welcome visitors, share information on exhibitions and programs, and provide customer service in our Visitor Info Booth and Museum Shop.

The position is 35 hrs/week at $22.50/hr. This position runs from mid-June through the end of August, with a potential extension to the end of September, depending on the applicant’s availability. Training will be provided. Secure accommodation should be in place.

CURATORIAL ASSISTANT/HOST¬-Are you 17–30 years old and looking for engaging work in natural history this summer? Wild Cortes is hiring a Curatorial Assistant/Host to assist with mounts, displays and interpretation. We are looking for a science-minded, hands-on, self-reliant and friendly person with a desire to learn about taxidermy, species at risk, and the natural history of Cortes Island. The wage for this position is $22.50/hr for a 30-hour work week starting from June until the end of August.
Applicants should be comfortable working with animal specimens. Computer skills are required. Secure housing should be in place. Wild Cortes is the off-site learning centre and lab located at Linnaea Education Centre, 1255 Seaford Road.

In this position, you will:
• assist the Natural History Curator/Taxidermist with hands-on work
• learn about the basic ecology and environmental factors affecting Cortes Island and surrounding areas
• share this knowledge with visitors as they explore Wild Cortes and the EcoLab
• perform data collection and input
