🚘✨Share rides & share costs

The Poparide app connects riders and drivers, and makes it easy for riders to help cover driver’s expenses. A trip from Mansons to Whaletown ferry terminal for example is around $5, or $0.18 per kilometre. This maximum price is set by the BC Passenger Transportation Regulations to ensure drivers are covering their expenses and not making a profit, as it's not considered a commercial service.  Learn much more and sign up for free at https://www.poparide.com.

Save money on travel while reducing your carbon footprint:
✅ Drivers: Fill your empty seats and earn gas money
✅ Passengers: Find affordable rides
✅ Everyone: Travel safer, cheaper, and more sustainably

To join Poparide and offer or find rides, you will need a computer or smartphone, and a credit card (no need to carry cash).

For drivers, your regular third-party liability insurance covers you for carpooling with Poparide, and your standard class 5 BC driver’s licence is adequate for carpooling.

While carpooling with Poparide can be a great way to help cover driver’s vehicle costs, as well as help reduce carbon emissions and ferry traffic congestion, individuals are responsible for their own safety and well-being within a carpool arrangement. Always verify the driver's credentials, establish clear communication with other carpool participants, and ensure you have adequate insurance coverage. This is not a taxi service, but helps riders contribute fairly to the costs of gas, wear and tear, and other expenses.
