CCEDA
The Cortes Community Development Association has received a grant from the Rural Economic Diversification and Infrastructure Program to implement the recommendations of the “Five Strategic Pillars” in the Cortes Island Community Tourism Plan.
We are seeking to contract one or two individuals working part-time to direct and implement the project over the next two years.
There are two possibilities.
- One person who has the required experience outlined below (approximately 20-30 Hours/week).
- Or a two person team with an experienced Lead Coordinator (approximately 5-10 hours/week), and a Project Manager who may have some, but not all, of the required experience (approximately 10-15 hours/week).
Both positions will report to the CCEDA Board of Directors and Tourism Working Group.

Starting contract wage at 35$ depending on experience.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Knowledge of the tourism sector on Cortes Island, including attractions, amenities & services
- Understanding of the Indigenous tourism industry
- Knowledge of the transportation system on and around Cortes Island
- Understanding of the “Regenerative Tourism” concept
- Strong organizational skills, excellent written and verbal communication, emotional intelligence, and strong interpersonal skills.
- A pro-active and independent work ethic
- Proven project monitoring and reporting skills
- Ability to maintain and interpret budget, financial reports, and government regulations.
- Willingness to work occasional weekends and holidays
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to attend CCEDA board meetings
- Valid BC Driver’s license

ASSETS
Customer service experience in a tourism-based industry (such as food & beverage)
Ability and experience in tourism marketing

Other Requirements
