Friends of Cortes Island invites you to join us for our annual broom bash at Mansons Landing Provincial Park, Saturday 22nd March 10am to 1pm.
We will be removing broom from the Spit, which has grown back since we cleared it last year.
If you would like to help, please come along! Please bring loppers or clippers if you have them and wear suitable outdoor gear, work gloves and sturdy boots. Tarps are also good for moving broom, if you have one. Everyone welcome!
We will provide yummy baked goodies, please bring your own drink.
Event to proceed come rain or shine. Please meet at 10am in the parking lot at Mansons Landing Provincial Park, by the lagoon.
This work is being carried out with support from BC Parks. It is being done to restore the rare coastal sand ecosystem found around the Spit, and to encourage native shrubs in adjacent forested area to thrive and grow.
