Presented by the Cortes Housing Society
March 8, 10-12
Main Hall

You are invited to join us on March 8th from 10 AM to Noon in-person at Manson's Hall or on zoom to learn from islanders who have decades of experience sharing land on Cortes. You will be amazed and inspired with the variety of ways they have managed to make home ownership more affordable.

Speakers will share their experiences with Siskin Lane, Treedom, Tiber Bay, as well as experiences with life-leases and bringing on a land partner. This forum will include multiple presentations of existing innovative land sharing examples highlighting how they work and some of the pros and cons of each approach. There will be opportunities to ask questions of the speakers. In partnership with FolkU and CKTZ, the forum will be recorded for radio and the video uploaded to youtube.

Dance Temple Cortes

$15-$25 at the door, accompanied children free

With DJ ConnieQ

ConnieQ (she/her) is a long time ecstatic dance enthusiast who brings you a rich tapestry of music that inspires her to dance and flow. In the spaces she holds Connie honours the transformative power of embodied movement for somatic healing, for healthy connection, for release, joy and playful fun. Her soundscapes weave through genres, inviting journeys into whatever moves us in the moment and to explore what arises within us as we come alive through dance.

Dance Temple is an inclusive, safer, and sacred community space to explore authentic non-verbal expression through ecstatic dance and movement for health and transformation.

Dance Temple is an invitation to tune in to your body, join with other dancers, celebrate, meditate, express and unwind. It is an open dance floor for you to explore different rhythms, sounds, patterns of movement and whatever arises in your inner journey.

All ages, all genders, all bodies, and all parts of YOU are welcome.

Regular Temple Guidelines:

1. Move however you wish

2. No talking on the dance floor

3. Respect yourself and one another

Dance Temple is an alcohol-free and scent-free space. Please also refrain from phones and outdoor shoes.

The facilitators of Dance Temple hold a strong intention to honour movement and dance as an essential and powerful expression of self and connection to others. We acknowledge the healing and creative nature of movement and recognize that fun, play and humour are vital to this practice.

Please contact connieaquaylegmail.com if you would like to be involved or are interested in volunteering in exchange for free admission.
