The Cortes Island Housing Society has cleared the site for the new affordable housing project in Mansons and will be selling firewood by the logging truck load.

A logging truck load of firewood logs averages 12.5 cords of bucked and split firewood. The majority of the logs on this project are Douglas Fir. What has worked well in the past is for a group of friends or neighbours to pick one site for delivery and then share the load.

There will likely be at least one or two firewood contractors buying logs to then buck, split, and deliver loads.

There will also be Douglas Fir sawlogs available for sale either by the logging truck load or for pickup on site with smaller trucks capable of carrying logs.
