You can join the Cortes Island Seniors Society (CISS) if you are 50+. The Society manages the current Seniors Village, pays for renting Manson's Hall for some seniors' activities and meetings, sends out a monthly newsletter with news relating to Cortes seniors, and organizes some island-wide events.
Membership in the Society is important as it shows your support for the organization and its programming. To sign up or renew your CISS membership, which is only $10, mail your cheque to CISS, PO BOX 27 Mansons Landing BC V0P 1K0, or email your dues by e-transfer to cortesseniors1gmail.com.

T’ai Chi Ch’uanT’ai Chi Ch’uan is a low-impact exercise ideal for seniors. Judyth Weaver generously offers these classes for free; donations, passed on to some charitable Cortes organizations, are welcome. All are invited to join.

Walking Group• The walking group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 a.m. in the Manson's Hall parking lot for a 30-minute to one-hour walk, followed by coffee. Never cancelled! Come and join the walking group.
Cortes Island Museum and Wild Cortes• Museum, 957 Beesley Road, Friday and Saturday, noon to 4 p.m.
• Wild Cortes, 1255 Seaford Road, Saturday, noon to 4 p.m. (Fridays – temporarily closed)
• Cortes Island Museum AGM, Sunday, March 30, at 1 p.m. (door open 12:30 p.m.). After a short business meeting, Iris Steigemann will give a slide presentation and talk "Beyond the Arctic Circle Trail: Hiking and Travels in West Greenland."

CORTES DEATHCARING COLLECTIVEPlease mark your calendars for a special meeting and AGM at Manson's Hall on Thursday, March 27th, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.
The DeathCaring Collective is hosting a community event featuring a special guest speaker, Emily Bootle from
www.DeathCareBC.ca. Emily is a dynamic funeral director and insightful death educator deeply committed to helping organizations like ours to integrate death into community life.
We’ll provide nourishing soup and bread, and Emily will share her stories, expertise, and broad perspective on death care in BC. Your presence would mean a lot to us. We will also hold a brief AGM that evening – your attendance truly makes a difference.
