The Strathcona Regional District is in search of a skilled and energetic individual to be a FireSmart Crew Member for Cortes Island. The FireSmart Crew Member supports wildfire preparedness, prevention, and mitigation through public education, assessments, and mitigative vegetation maintenance work to reduce community risk from wildfires.

Reporting to the Manager of Emergency Services, the FireSmart Crew Member is responsible for supporting the implementation of the FireSmart program on Cortes Island by working to assist community members in taking steps to FireSmart their properties and supporting public education.
