MONDAY, FEBRUARY 17: Somatic Awareness for Women

10-11:30 am, Main Hall, Mansons Hall.

(Next session will be held March 17.)

These sessions ( 1 1/2 hours) are to allow us the time to feel, to sense, to pay attention to what our organisms/our bodies are saying. To listen. to allow. to respond --- if we want. To come to peace with ourselves.

Sensory Awareness is the basic foundation of all somatic work. Judyth has been studying this since 1968, and authorized to teach since 1985. She is happy to be able to share it.

Open to all women. No obligation to continue or to pay.

Donations to the Women’s Centre are welcome.

Judyth Weaver received permission to teach TCC from the school of Grand Master Cheng Man-Ch’ing in 1971, and she has been teaching it regularly around the world since then.

The class will be offered on Wednesdays, from 10 am until noon in the Om Studio.

WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19: Cortes Island DeathCare Collective Monthly Meeting

Our in-person meetings are usually held on the third Wednesday of the month, from 2:00 – 3:30 pm in the Pioneer Room of the Mansons Hall, September through April. Everyone is welcome.

The meetings consist of about a ½ an hour for sharing about death, dying and grief, the next 1/2 hour or 40 minutes for a presentation to learn more about a particular death-related topic, followed by questions and reflections.

This month: Home Death and Natural Burial. Michelle’s dear long-time friend, Elke Finley, journeyed into death consciously, with a profound trust that love cradles both life and death. Elke died in her home, surrounded by those dearest to her. Her body was laid to rest in the Mansons Cemetery, and a celebration of her life was held a couple of weeks later. Michelle will share her reflections on this deep experience.
