The tasting and enjoyment of wine is sometimes viewed as something mysterious and complex – although it needn’t be. In Wine 101, we attempt to de-mystify wine and provide some common-sense and fundamental tools to further your enjoyment of this wonderful and ancient beverage. We embrace a value system that ranks wine relative to how much it costs and how much pleasure it gives you. Having said that, some basic skills are easy to learn, which will assist in your enjoyment and knowledge of wine.

Wine 101, led by Lorne Jacobson and Monika Hoffmann, is an introductory course in wine tasting and basic sensory analysis. Lorne and Monika are retired wine industry professionals with over 60 years of experience representing multiple facets of the industry.
