General News · 17th January 2025
CCHA Rose
While we are working tirelessly to ensure the excellent service at the Cortes Health Centre continues, we were unable to secure a physician for the last week of January and the first week of February. We had a locum doctor scheduled who, unfortunately cancelled without enough notice to find a replacement.

Nurses will still be available for RN appointments and will have access to virtual physician support for urgent matters each regularly open day. For many of the days we will have virtual care provided by our regular contract doctors at a distance but there will not be a doctor physically at the clinic.

After these two weeks we are fully covered until June and we are continuing to work to find physicians to cover these gaps.

IF you have a health EMERGENCY call 911.

If you have more general immediate health concerns call the Nurses' Hotline at 811 and they can help you access the care you need.

There is a Primary Urgent Care clinic in Campbell River beside the hospital, located at 381 2nd Ave. They do not accept walk-in appointments but their phone lines for same-day appointments open at 8:30am and can be reached at 1-833-688-8722. For more information check out their website at https://www.islandhealth.ca/our-locations/hospitals-health-centre-locations/campbell-river-primary-care-access-clinic
