Everyone is welcome to meet with us on Wednesday, Jan 15, 2:00 - 3:30 pm in the Pioneer Room of the Mansons Hall.

Our meeting topic this Wednesday is Body Disposition in Other Cultures: Darsi Kamay will lead us in an exploration of death care practices in different cultures, focusing on three unconventional methods: pyres, sky burials, and mummification. It aims to spark conversation rather than provide an in-depth study. We’ll also examine current methods for body disposition offered in BC, and how cultural views on death shape available choices.

The DeathCaring Collective strives to integrate death as part of life by initiating conversations, providing education, and encouraging people to prepare for end-of-life. We also empower, guide, and support the practice and process of caring for our own dead and dying, in community.

Our meetings are structured with a time for optional sharing, an educational presentation, comments and reflections, and an update about projects in our community. Visit our website, islanddeathcare.ca.
