Augmented Home Support Program?

We have operated the Augmented Home Support Program (AHSP) since 2014 to support all Cortes residents with light housekeeping and errands as they age, or recover from illness, surgery, or hospitalization. Our free program is available to Cortes residents of any age, those with limited abilities due to age, chronic health challenges, and disability after illness, injury, surgery or hospitalization. We do provide both short term and long-term support, but do not provide any hands-on personal care, therapy or assistance with medications.

AHSP provides up to 6 hours per week for:
-Support with light housekeeping, laundry and bed linen changes etc.
-On-Island transportation to the health centre, pharmacy, post office and grocery shopping.
-Firewood and water can be moved to an accessible spot.
-Help with garbage/recycling for roadside pickup
-A hospital bed can be set up and dismantled.
-Safety checks and socialization
-Limited meal support may be available

If you, or someone you know, could use the support that we offer, please contact us.

You can access this program in addition to Better at Home programming if you need more support
If you are not eligible for the Better at Home program, you may still be eligible for the AHSP.

The program is not affiliated with the Cortes Health Centre medical practice and service is confidential.
