Digging a redd (Naio)
Join us on November 3 for our monthly walk in the Children’s Forest. Calling all young (& old) streamkeepers with sharp eyes and ears to be salmon detectives as we look for signs of spawners – living, dead, or clues such as gill plates, fish skin or even smell.
Mud puddles are big on the way in and the forest is awash with water so wear rubber boots. Bring your snacks & lunch, and dress for weather. We leave from the Children’s Forest trailhead on Carrington Bay Road at 10:00 am and will return around 2:00.
Adults without children are welcome, and please leave dogs home out of respect for wild spaces and wild creatures.
