The Cortes Island Community Foundation is working to assist with the review of the Grant-in-Aid funds for the 2024 calendar year. As with all of our granting processes, a volunteer jury made up of community members will make recommendations for the disbursement of these grants. The recommendations will be submitted to the Strathcona Regional District board by Regional Director, Mark Vonesch, for final consideration and anticipated endorsement in late October.
As in years past, the total GIA pool of funds are approximately $25,000 and are intended to benefit the community through support of the work of community social profits (nonprofits, charities, and partnerships with a non-profit lead). The average grant award is in the range of $1000 – $5000 and will be dispersed by end of 2024.
This year’s GIA funding will prioritize projects supporting
Arts, Culture & Environment. Applications outside that with particularly urgent needs are welcome to apply as well and will be considered for a minority amount of funds.
The deadline for application is midnight on
Monday October 21st. Further details and a fillable .pdf of the application can be found at the
www.CortesFoundation.ca website.
Support for applications will be offered by Andrea at AndreaCortesFoundation.ca. Applications should be sent before midnight on Monday October 21st to outreachcortesfoundation.ca.
