Cortes Island, join us for two engaging workshops hosted by the Strathcona Community Food Hub
and Food Preservationist Izabelle Perry on learning how to make shelf stable burritos in a jar.

In Mighty Meals, we’ll explore how to make a well rounded meal full of protein and how to preserve it
through pressure canning. A vegetarian workshop will be offered in the morning and an omnivore workshop in the afternoon.

These events are free, open to all with registration

10:00 am - 1:00 pm - Vegetarian Burrito Canning Workshop

2:00 pm - 5:00 pm - Omnivore Burrito Canning Workshop

Participants will learn about food preservation tools and go home with some preserved burritos in a
jar that they can store over the colder months

Participants must be able to stay for the entire three hour duration of their chosen workshop. Wear appropriate clothing for food preparation including comfortable, closed toe shoes, a long sleeved shirt, and hair pulled back. Also bring an apron, if able.
