Hello dear Cortes Community,
We wanted to share again resources for harm reduction. We have cupboards situated in 3 locations on the island.
The cupboards are located at:
Mansons Hall
Squirrel Cove store (by the entrance)
Gorge Hall
The CCHA in collaboration with BCEHS implemented these stations in the summer of 2022 in response to a need to have accessible supplies for harm reduction such as: sharps containers, condoms/lube, fentanyl testing strips and naloxone kits. We’ve instructed many in the use of Naloxone for drug overdoses as well as distributing over 200 kits at our local farmers’ market and harm reduction cupboards.

More importantly, we have a box with condoms, lube, and naloxone kits just outside by the front door.
There is also a box to dispose of used/expired kits there as well.
Feel free to exchange them!
Fall blessings,
Isabelle, RN and the team at the Cortes Health Centre
