Help us Continue to Care for Cortes Island

Friends of Cortes Island is launching an urgent fundraising appeal to our community. We need to raise $30,000 by the end of September to continue our vital work that keeps Cortes vibrant and thriving. Without your support, the natural beauty and ecological health of our island is at risk.

Caring for Cortes

This year alone, FOCI has been working tirelessly to preserve the natural wonders that make Cortes Island so special:

Keeping the beaches pristine with our whole island beach clean-up
Maintaining the regional parks and trails for everyone to enjoy
Installing a fabulous butterfly meadow at the school
Preventing harmful nutrients from damaging Hague and Gunflint lakes by managing the Dillon Creek Wetland
Battling Invasive Species by working to prevent the highly invasive Green Crab from devastating Mansons Lagoon

And we’ve done so much more. But this important work requires time, dedication, and funding.

Why we need your help now

We have an incredible team making a real difference, but right now we face an urgent need for funds to continue our mission. Your support is crucial to ensuring that we can protect and nurture the natural beauty of Cortes into the future.

How you can support us

If you love what FOCI is doing and want to help us continue our vital work please donate now, if you can. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to our goal.
