On Sunday, August 18, at 5:30 p.m., the Museum invites you to help celebrate the 2024 relaunch of
Recipes from Garden, Sea and Bush, the iconic Cortes Island cookbook.
First published in 1995 – and still a bargain now at $19.99! – the fabulous recipes in this book are even more relevant today as home cooks strive to find interesting ways to use the fresh bounty from their gardens, the local markets, and the sea.
Join the authors Brigid Weiler and Jill Milton in the Museum’s garden, where they will share stories about foraging in the bush, cooking in the camps and other adventures.
Rebeka Carpenter will have delicious food for sale, the Museum will be open, and the garden will be lovely in the evening. If we are blessed with rain, we will celebrate inside the Museum.
The event is free, but donations to support the Museum’s programs can be made at the gate. Everyone is welcome!
