Annette grew up on Cortes Island. She moved to Campbell River but continued to come home to Cortes Island to visit with family and, for a time, gave nutritional talks at Klahoose. You could also see Annette at Discovery Inn, where she worked in the kitchen and the banquet area. Annette's mother, Shirley Beaulieu, works at the Cortes Market.
Recently, Annette was diagnosed with a rare genetic disease which attacks the white brain cells. There is no cure for the disease, and Annette's disease is progressing quickly. She now needs full-time care, and the family hopes to place Annette in a specialized home where she will get the help she needs. Annette's current care and placing her in a special home require a lot of money, which the family does not have.
If you are able to help, it would be very appreciated. There is a GoFundMe set up for Annette at
