Public Notice is hereby given that on Wednesday, May 22, 2024 the Board of Directors for the Strathcona Regional District may proceed with final passage and adoption of Bylaw No. 544, being Regional Board Procedure Bylaw 2024, which would establish the general procedures to be followed by the Board and committees of the Board in conducting their business including the manner by which resolutions may be passed and bylaws adopted.

Bylaw No. 544 would replace Bylaw No. 1, being Regional Board Procedure Bylaw 2011, in its entirety with the following changes:

• recording devices used by the public would no longer require advance approval for their use during meetings provided they do not disturb the proceedings of the Board or committee.

•the Chair would no longer be able to move, second or otherwise sponsor a motion to be considered by the Board or committee.

•the Chair would no longer be able to vacate the position of presiding official in order to participate in debate on a motion under consideration by the Board or committee.
