Saturday, March 23rd, 2024 – Workshop #3 In the Be Kind To Those You Leave Behind Series – Death and After Death Care
12:00 Lunch, 1:00 – 2:30 Presentation and Q&A, 2:30 – 4:00 Supported Work Time
What’s important to you as your death approaches, and how would you like your body tended to and returned to the earth? Death is not a medical event; it is a human experience. How can you prepare for it in a way that aligns with who you are and what you value? Exploring your options and planning ahead can lead to more personal, meaningful, and affordable choices that will benefit those you leave behind, and may help you in your journey as well.
Margaret Verschuur will give the presentation; she has been immersed in the field of death and dying since 2010, and is one of the founders of the DeathCare Collective here on Cortes. She has worked in the funeral industry and appreciates its usefulness, and also values the significant benefits for families and communities to take care of their own at death.
Child care will be provided; this session is relevant to all mortals, regardless of age.
We are grateful to the SRD for their Grant-in-Aid, which covers all workshop expenses, enabling us to offer this important education at no charge.
