To the directors of the Cortes Community Forest Co-op,
I want to make public my opposition to the project ( road building and fire mitigation clear cuts) and join my neighbours in the surrounding area who are also against the project. Some of your members already know and heard what I said at the first public tour of the area. It's unfortunate and sad that no one really has bothered to listen to any of our concerns. And here we are once again, listening to the trees fall. As I said at the beginning you are not really thinking of the generations to come.
I have lived in this area for 34 years. The area you are encroaching upon is a wild life corridor that stretches all the way from the highways yard to the mouth of the Gorge Harbour entrance. Including several important wetlands.
I thank all the people who have been courageous enough to speak out against your plans.
