Friends of Cortes Island invites you to join us for our annual broom bash at Mansons Landing Provincial Park, Sunday 10th March 10am to 1pm.
We will be removing broom from the Spit and around the edge of the lagoon, which has grown back since we cleared it last year.
If you would like to help, please come along! Please bring loppers or clippers if you have them and wear suitable outdoor gear, work gloves and sturdy boots. Tarps are also good for moving broom, if you have one. Everyone welcome! Event to proceed rain or shine.
We will provide yummy baked goodies to eat, please bring your own drink.
Please meet at 10am in the parking lot at Mansons Landing Provincial Park, by the lagoon.
This work is being carried out with support from BC Parks, and is aimed at restoring the rare coastal sand ecosystem found at the Spit and native shrubs in adjacent forested area.
