Join Kirsten in the beautiful Lakeside Kitchen this upcoming season for a series of workshops designed to increase your Kitchen Literacy.
Encourage your confidence and passion- from starting with the soil to nourishing your soul. One bite at a time. Kirsten will share well-earned
methods and recipes to keep your home kitchen vibrant and exciting, and techniques for maximizing the nutrition of the harvest. Hands on
sessions will result in delicacies to take home and share and detailed recipe & information packages for future reference.

Sourdough School
Sunday, March 24th 10am-3pm
An information packed full intro to sourdough bread baking basics – the folk science, the tried and true methods and we will get our hands in the dough! We will go over the basics from starter to baking so you can enjoy fresh baked sourdough at home . We will also go over sourdough crackers and uses of excess starter, and care and feeding of your own starter. Leave w/loaf, crackers & starter
Bring lunch, snacks provided

Garden to Kitchen “Farm-acy“ - Spring
Sunday April 14th 10am-3pm
or the plant curious and the culinarily passionate, we will go over a few plants that are
commonly found in the kitchen garden or pantry and explore the deep lore, healing properties and fortifying qualities. This class will focus on Alliums (garlic, onions, shallots) , woody aromatic herbs- Rosemary, thyme, sage and oregano, Honey and Apple cider vinegar.
We will focus on tonic remedies and food grade daily life supports for overall well-being.
Leave with an info package and jars full with tonics including infused honey &tea blends

The Fermented Pantry Mild, Medium & Hot
May 5th 10am-3pm
A vibrant and hands on introduction to the basics of home kitchen lacto-fermentation for
enhancing gut health , expanding flavour profiles and bringing some excitement to the daily staples. We will cover basic kraut, spiced pickled veggies and an essential jalapeño hot sauce.
Participants will leave with a jar of each delicacy and the skills to create at home.

Homemade Pasta Basics
June 9th 10am-3pm
For anyone who wants to get the basics of making fresh pasta at home. We will go over the
foundations of a simple noodle, stuffed ravioli and a simple compound butter to accompany your pasta. Participants will take home a nest of linguine , pappardelle and a garden inspired stuffed ravioli, with a flavourful butter to finish.

Garden to Kitchen “Farm-acy” – Summer
July 14th 10am-3pm
For the plant curious and the culinarily passionate, we will go over a few plants that are
commonly found in the kitchen garden or pantry and explore the deep lore, healing properties and fortifying qualities. The seasonal inspiration will focus on the common medicinal flowers of the garden – calendula, chamomile & tulsi. As well as green herbal blends of mint, borage and parsley. We will create an increasing knowledge of food grade tonics and daily remedies for overall wellbeing. We will be working with honey and Apple Cider Vinegar based recipes.

Pickle School
August 11th 10am-3pm
Have a taste for the tangy, salty and sour side of life? Ever thought – ‘I wish I could pickle that ?’
– well you can , and we will !
We will spend the day on a brining and pickling a rainbow assortment of fresh from the garden veggies and learn the basics for safe and delicious pickles. participants will leave with an assortment of pickles and a foundational knowledge of how to brine just about anything – we will go over traditional water bath canning and touch on the basics of lacto fermentation.
