Soma for FOCI
Sat, Feb 24 1:00pm
The second event in FOCI's new Create Connect Conserve Community Event Series is coming, NEXT SATURDAY At LINNAEA, in the Lakeview Room.
Join Autumn Barrett-Morgan, a local environmental and conservation worker, and FOCI’s Vice President, to build small nesting shelters (bug hotels) to attract beneficial insects to your backyard and garden. We provide all materials, including seeds for plants that are attractants. You get to make a bug hotel and take it home to install. Please bring the kids!!
You MUST REGISTER to attend! Only 12 spaces available! $15 each / $20 per family. Either email me, Soma, from this post, or call FOCI 935-0087 to ask your questions and secure your spot! Payment will be collected at the event: cheque, cash, or e-transfer.
Insects and pollinators are foundational to the food-web and local ecosystems. We will learn how to support insect populations, and thus wildlife, in our own backyards. Bring your family to learn how to care for our insect neighbours, from the last frost to the first frost! We will discuss how to support insects year-round in your own backyard!
