CCHA - Rose
As of January 29th, 2024, the BC Cancer agency is launching a program which enables women/people with cervix to self-screen for cervical cancer.

This new program applies to low risk individuals with no symptoms or concerns and who have a history of normal PAP results.

If this applies to you, you could qualify for an HPV self-screening kit to come directly to your door (or mail box!).  You will also receive a letter giving you the choice of a PAP or the self-screen option.

We also hope to carry them at the clinic in the future.

If you’ve had abnormal PAP results in recent years, we would assess if this is an option for you.  Please connect with your main care provider about this.

If any symptoms are present (pain, discharge, abnormal bleeding) or you want other STI testing, you will still need to book an appointment with your doctor or nurse.

The results will be posted at
https://www.healthgateway.gov.bc.ca/
These self-swabs results will not be sent to the clinic.
This is also a great place to sign up to follow-up with lab results and diagnostic reports!

Here is more information on this process.
