Emergency Support Services (ESS)
Have you wondered how a family receives help when they are displaced by a disaster? Emergency Support Services is the “heart of emergency response” by helping evacuees find shelter, meals and clothing through vouchers as well as supporting the reunification of family members.
More information is available at:

Emergency Communications Team (ECT)
ECT volunteers serve as “Plan B” when primary communication systems are disrupted or destroyed. This group is composed of certified Amateur Radio Operators (and those willing to obtain their certification) who volunteer their time and expertise. The SRD provides most of the equipment required to operate this service through a library of equipment that members can sign out to develop their skillset.

Canadian Animal Disaster Response Team (CDART)
We recognize that failure to evacuate and care for pets during an emergency has negative implications for the emotional and physical well-being of both the owner and the animal. During disasters CDART offers assistance by providing services such as:
•Set up of temporary animal intake shelters, including care and maintenance of animals;
•Intake - pets registration at intake shelters; and
•Reuniting pets with owners/guardians.
