You are invited to join the Cortes Island Seniors Society (CISS) if you are 50+. The Society manages the current Seniors Village, pays for renting of Manson's Hall for certain seniors' activities and meetings, sends out a monthly newsletter with news relating to Cortes seniors and organizes island-wide events.

To find more information about our programs and activities, check this Tideline post or our Facebook page.

Membership in the Society is very important as it shows your support for the organization and its programming.

Literary Afternoon

Events organized by Seniors Helping Seniors and Cortes Island Museum. Please contact Carina6793 if you would like to present your writing at these events.

DeathCaring Collective

• See https://islanddeathcare.ca/ for more information. All are welcome to join us. Our next meeting is on January 16, 2024.

FolkU/Cortes Literacy Programs

• Sunday, January 14, Cortes Book Club
• Sundays, January 7, 14, 21, 28, 1 – 3 p.m., Cortes Island Library, Writing Workshops
• Tuesday, January 16, 7 – 8:30 p.m., Manson's Hall, Poetry + Songs

Walking Group

• The walking group meets every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 9 a.m., Manson's Hall parking lot, for a 30-minute to one-hour walk, followed by coffee. Coffee location TBA. The walk is never cancelled. Come and join the walking group folks.

Cortes Island Museum and Wild Cortes

• Museum, 957 Beasley Road, Fri/Sat, noon to 4 p.m.
• Wild Cortes, 1255 Seaford Road, Fri/Sat, noon to 4 p.m.

Luncheons

• No scheduled lunches this month but let's meet on Wednesdays in Julie's Cafe (Community Cafe in the Pioneer Room) for a lunch served by Julie and Sandy! Invite your friends and be there at 12:30 p.m.
