An Update on Cortes Island

On behalf of CityWest and our partners at the Strathcona Regional District, we are happy to provide an update about fibre-optic services on Cortes Island.

A few weeks ago, we began testing services on island with a select group of beta testers. This was done using the fibre-optic network we constructed on Cortes Island and the Connected Coast subsea backbone.

Although we have built both networks to the highest standard with fibre-optic technology, it’s important for us to ensure that we are delivering services with the best experience possible for our customers. By testing the delivery of services with a small test group, we can ensure that when we bring more customers online, they are all getting the most from their fibre-optic services.

For residents on Cortes Island that have signed up for CityWest services, one of our representatives will contact you when your home or business is ready for services.
