Dear Parents and Cortes Island Community Members,
I hope this finds you well. As we strive to cultivate a vibrant environment for our students at Cortes Island Elementary, we are reaching out to the community for any interest in facilitating lunch hour activities and/or clubs (or after school, if we can figure out transportation). Currently, our lunch hour runs from 12 noon to 12:45 pm—we thought activities and clubs might run from 12:15pm to 12:45pm, allowing for 15 minutes outdoors and 30 minutes of structured or semi-structured activity.
We are seeking volunteers to help facilitate the following lunch hour/after-school clubs (and we are open to other possibilities):
1) Chess Club
2) Board Game Club
3) Art Club
4) Homework Club (the"Brainiac Pack")
5) Intramural Sports in the Gymnasium
We believe these activities will not only contribute to the holistic development of our students but will also create a positive school culture. Your involvement as volunteers is vital to the success of these initiatives, and we encourage community members to consider contributing their time and expertise. If you are interested please contact the school office.
Thank you for your support and commitment to the well-being and success of our students.
Respectfully,
Michael D. Datura
Principal, Corte
