Introductory Fiction & Nonfiction Writing Workshop with Author/Historian Jeanette Taylor

You have a story to tell, a passion for writing, and curiosity about the creative process. Get your project launched in a workshop with writer/historian Jeanette Taylor, Saturdays, January 13, 20 and 27 at Cortes Island’s Manson’s Hall. This introductory workshop applies to fiction and nonfiction, including memoir and family history.

Taylor uses a combination of instruction, assigned readings, writing exercises and interactive discussion, including small break-out groups to share draft writing. Bring a notebook and (if applicable) your laptop for in-class writing.

Workshop topics include planning options to flesh out and structure a story idea; ways to hone memories and research to engage readers; inject life into characters and events portrayed; and test the revisions process. In-class and homework assignments are designed to help advance your project.

An email address is required, to receive readings and share writing.
