Pioneer Room in Manson's HallLike many rural communities in Canada, our locally owned and operated small businesses are the backbone of Cortes Island's economy. Friends and neighbours who operate businesses here create jobs and help build a strong community. So how are our local businesses doing, and what do they need to succeed on Cortes Island?
The Cortes Community Economic Development Association (CCEDA) is hosting an in-person community discussion to answer this question. The results will help CCEDA update the 2018 Local Economic Action Plan, which can be found here:
https://cceda.ca/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/LEAP-Report_Final_Dec2018_sm.pdf.
Everyone is welcome to participate. Coffee and tea will be served.
This is the first of CCEDA's monthly "Conversation Cafés."
Future topics include:
Regenerative Tourism
Worker Housing
Transportation
Reconciliation
Land Use Planning
Education
Please watch out for details on our upcoming Conversation Cafés.
