The Better at Home program has slowly started up again.

We deliver 3 BAH programs that are connected.
- Home Support
- Food Security
- Emergency Preparedness

The program offers non-medical services to seniors who are:
• 65 years of age or older
• Between 60 & 65 with mobility or health challenges
• Residents of Cortes Island

This program is offered through United Ways, CISS and the Support Our Seniors Society. When you fill in the application we will need line 15000 of your most recent tax return. Once you complete the application and we confirm you are eligible for the program, you receive an agreement with the specific Category of subsidy. Please see the chart below to find out which Category you would fall into. The application form is at the bottom of this article as well, as an attachment.

This week our focus is on Food Security, and especially Melas on Wheels and veggie boxes. If you are interested to learn more about it, or sign up for the program, we invite you to drop by the Pioneer Room today between 4 & 5. Carie will be there to answer any questions you have about the meals and you can grab a free meal to go to try it out. If you are an existing BAH client you can make your July order in person, or set up a standing monthly order. If you are not a client yet, I will be there with application forms and you can take it home or we can fill it in on the spot.
