Helen - FOCI
Thanks to all the volunteers who came out for our beach clean-up on Saturday - it was a great morning and a job well done!

We managed to clean the beach the whole way from the southern tip of Cortes past Hollyhock to Seascape, and collected a whole truck load of styrofoam and other beach garbage.

Working with Klahoose First Nation, Comox Strathcona Waste Management and Ocean Legacy Foundation, the waste was taken to a large marine waste bin that had been brought to the island, and hosted by Klahoose.

This allowed us to sort the garbage so it could be taken off for recycling, alongside marine waste that Klahoose had also collected. So great to get the garbage out of the ocean, off the beaches, and heading for recycling! Much appreciation to Klahoose everyone involved in this great initiative.

Many thanks also to 10 000 Whales and Hollyhock for sponsoring this awesome event.
